What to check before measurement
- Identify each sealant joint and whether one or both faces are included.
- Separate backer rod, structural silicone and weather seals.
- Confirm flashing, end dams and closure responsibility.
A practical bid example
A 44 ft opening perimeter does not automatically mean 88 ft of sealant. Review the joint detail, interruptions and included faces before extending a quantity.
What the reviewer should receive
An accessory schedule with joint references, units and responsibility notes.
Keep revisions and responsibility visible
Record the source sheet, detail or specification and revision beside the affected item. When information conflicts, leave the affected quantity or price pending and attach a question for the authorised project contact. A blank or unresolved entry must never be silently converted into zero.
Before issuing a revised package, identify changed, removed and added items. Separate measurement corrections from new scope and keep the previous output marked as superseded. The contractor retains final tender review and approval.
