What to check before measurement
- Calibrate each drawing and confirm dimensions.
- Separate perimeter members from internal mullions and transoms.
- Apply deductions or waste only with a documented system-specific basis.
A practical bid example
A 12 × 10 ft opening has 120 sq ft gross area and 44 linear ft perimeter. Two full-height internal paths add 20 linear ft of schematic framing, not another perimeter.
What the reviewer should receive
A quantity register with units, formula, source drawing, revision and unresolved deductions.
Keep revisions and responsibility visible
Record the source sheet, detail or specification and revision beside the affected item. When information conflicts, leave the affected quantity or price pending and attach a question for the authorised project contact. A blank or unresolved entry must never be silently converted into zero.
Before issuing a revised package, identify changed, removed and added items. Separate measurement corrections from new scope and keep the previous output marked as superseded. The contractor retains final tender review and approval.
