Glazing fundamentals

Reconcile glazing and window schedules

Join each opening mark to its location, glass designation and source revision. Schedule reconciliation catches conflicts that an area-only takeoff misses.

What to check before measurement

  1. Match every scheduled mark to plans and elevations.
  2. Separate duplicate marks with different make-ups.
  3. Flag elevation-only panels, blanks and inconsistent revisions.

A practical bid example

Illustrative SP-02 appears on elevation E-02 but has no schedule row. Give it a pending designation and an RFI; do not infer thickness or performance.

What the reviewer should receive

An opening register with confirmed, conflicting and pending rows, plus an RFI reference.

Keep revisions and responsibility visible

Record the source sheet, detail or specification and revision beside the affected item. When information conflicts, leave the affected quantity or price pending and attach a question for the authorised project contact. A blank or unresolved entry must never be silently converted into zero.

Before issuing a revised package, identify changed, removed and added items. Separate measurement corrections from new scope and keep the previous output marked as superseded. The contractor retains final tender review and approval.
