Fees, revisions & risk

Prepare comparable glazing supplier enquiries

Suppliers can return more comparable quotations when glass and framing schedules use the same scope, measurement basis and revision.

What to check before measurement

  1. Separate glass make-ups, frame profiles, finishes and hardware sets.
  2. Identify whether lengths are reference paths, cut lengths or stock quantities.
  3. Request freight, exclusions, validity and lead time explicitly.

A practical bid example

One supplier quotes stock bars and another quotes fabricated frames. Do not compare their totals until fabrication, waste and delivery scope are reconciled.

What the reviewer should receive

A supplier comparison register with common quantities and visible exclusions.

Keep revisions and responsibility visible

Record the source sheet, detail or specification and revision beside the affected item. When information conflicts, leave the affected quantity or price pending and attach a question for the authorised project contact. A blank or unresolved entry must never be silently converted into zero.

Before issuing a revised package, identify changed, removed and added items. Separate measurement corrections from new scope and keep the previous output marked as superseded. The contractor retains final tender review and approval.
